My Queen on her thrones XD |
This is my tribute to the most amazing woman in my life, the one that shaped me to become who I am today. She is the Queen of my life, in the past, the present and the unforeseeable future, and she will always be.
A full time housewife nearing her fifties (remember always, female's age is a secret) with a caring husband and three filial children of her own, she is the envy of many of her neighbors as she look like she's in her thirties :) Many keep trying to ask her for the secret of her youth yet failed because she have none. No heavy use of cosmetics, cream or whatever chemicals the female species applied on their faces nowadays. Maybe her secret is having three good and filial children (me included of course XD).
Furthermore, she has three additional beautiful and lovely daughters of age 2 and 1/2 years old, 1 and 1/2 years old and the youngest is just 3 months old. They are the gems of her life and they are the one that accompany her for most of her days as her other children are out working and studying. The laughters they brought her definitely is the most effective one compared to any other elixir of youth that exist.
She's born the (err, let me count awhile...okay, got it) seventh child out of eight brothers and sisters in a traditional family where not much emphasis was given to education. Instead, she's required to help the family prepare foods for sale on her father's little stall after she finish her class. Hence, she only studied until SRP (PMR's equivalent on those days) and she start working at that young age to help the family. By chance, she is given the opportunity to work in KL and she grab it immediately. This is where she met her husband and created the rest of her history with him.
From a village girl that knows nothing about cooking and taking care of children, she grows into a first class cook among her children and their friends that are lucky enough to given the chance to tried her cooking. She turns into an excellent babysitter that got many young parents lining up to obtain her limited expertise. Her growth in all these years leave many with envy and amazement, including her own three children. This is one of the countless reasons why she is my Super Woman.
There is a joke that the Husband is the General of the household while the Wife is the Major, as the Husband make all the 'General' decisions while the Wife make all the 'Major' decisions. This is especially true in her household. She is the Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, Education Minister and almost all the portfolios except Prime Minister and Work Minister. She's the one that manage the finances of the household and enables my dad to own what they have now. This is truly an amazing feat, given the limited pays that my dad received for his work.
When I mentioned earlier that she is the one that shaped me into who I am today, I did not exaggerate at all. For starters, she's the one that allow me to explore my curiosity even if it means to the annoyance my teachers (some did find my curiosity amusing LOL). She fueled my quest to search for the answer to all my questions by asking me to read as she is unable to provide me with the answers herself. Not to mention the fact that I had annoyed most of my teachers with my endless questions XD From there, my loves for books and words grew exponentially, making me the bookworm I am today.
By looking at the way she manage the foreign affairs of my family (with all those uncles, aunts and the endless number of ke poh chi), I learned the fine ways of dealing with peoples around me. As a result, I've become an expert of some sorts in dealing with different types of peoples that I encounter. And it is from her that I learned true friendship means sincerity and honesty to your friends. To this day, I still uphold this value and will continue to do so. To all my friends that cherish my friendship, you have this Super Woman of mine to thank for.
As the Minister of Education for my household, her policy on education is total freedom for me to choose when I want to do my revisions and what I want to study in the future. The only exception to this policy is regarding Maths, as she still have this traditional opinions that Chinese must excel in Maths. So I have to make sure that I score the best for every Maths exam that I sit for and every careless mistake was 'rewarded' with a knock on my head. Surprisingly this does not impaired my learning capabilities or as I suspect, it might improved it. Nevertheless, the results of this 'reward' is the physical resistance my head developed and I am able to excel in my Maths paper most of the time.
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity here to wish my mom and every moms out there "Happy Mother's Day". Words can never expressed the full extent of my gratitude to her so this is just a small token of my appreciation to the Queen of my life, My Super Woman.
Thank you Mom. You are simply the best.

(Now I hope Google Translate can translate this piece fairly well so that my mom can read this. Let's keep the finger crossed everybody XD or anyone volunteer to translate this for me?)
