A Crazy trip to Teluk Intan

As the tradition of this Crazy Gang, the itinerary was never followed. This is what really happened, truthfully reported by WH:

17th June 2011

As proposed by Miss CL, we were supposed to meet up at 7pm at WT's 'bungalow' but turns out she and KY were the one that were late and by 25 mins at that. WHEW!! This is what happen when the organiser had never been punctual and I seriously still doubt that she will ever be. After getting some teasings from us, we moved all the luggages into CL and SM's cars and stuffed the cars full to the brim. Talk about the amount of luggages each bringing LOL. And the journey starts. With a serious traffic jam. All because CL brought us to a detour to SS2 to exit to NKVE instead of taking the easy exit at Seventeen. *Note to self: Must remind her again bout this exit next time so that we don't torture our stomach with longer hungers again.*

After breezing thru the highway and braving thru the scary plantations area, we finally reached our destination around 10pm. And the 1st thing we did was to head over to the famous che cheong fun to tapao some and then made our way to a char kuey teow stall located somewhere on the roadside in the town area. Although it's fried with charcoal's stove, the wetness and taste disappointed most of us. Not to mention TX was tortured by that plate of spicy char kuey teow. We were amused by her classifications of type of spiciness where she can take tom yam spiciness but not sambal type. Had a good laugh at that cause no one expected that from her LOL!!!

After filling up our tummies, the next destination definitely is CL's house. There, we were left mouth agaping, amazed by the sheer size of her house. She really never exaggerated that we all can fit into her kitchen, enough to accomodate us sleeping side by side with some extra space between everyone. We had some short chats with CL's parents while waiting for turns to shower. And I grabbed the chance to trick TX into taking a shower before 12am and we prepared the cakes while she's still in the dark about what's coming next. She was then greeted with a birthday cake and birthday song by all of us. It's clearly written on her face that she's surprised and touch by our celebrations and this make the whole trip worthwhile as we planned this trip for her birthday. For her birthday, she received a card full of wishes from the gang as well as a doggie plushie. Not to forget my gift for her which is decorations of her face by the creams of the cake when she's trying to bite out the candle on the cake. So to TX, no need to thanks me for that gift of mine WAKAKAKA!!!!

The night ended with 7 pigs and 1 bear sleeping soundly.

18th June 2011

We learned a very important lesson this morning(especially to those wearing contact lenses and are at a level of near-blindness), that is " Never ever set your alarm after you took out the contact lenses". WT suppose to wake all of us up at 7.30am but she set her alarm at 7.30pm because she's near-blinded without her lenses. What a blunder LOL!!!! In the end, we all woke up late and pai seh-ly had to depend on CL's mom to buy the chicken wings for us. 

Breakfast was homemade bak chang, made by CL's amazing mom and it's AWESOMELY delicious. So for those that can't made it for this trip, your loss truly. After that, we went to a local supermarket to shop for foods to be BBQed that night. Unbelievably, we spent more times snapping photos than the time to purchase all the items needed. What a bunch of photo-snapping-addicts(Me exluded of course).

The evening was spent preparing the for the BBQ event, with an unhelpful host that didn't know where the stuffs in her own house was placed. *Face-palmed* There's some talk about stopping studies and starting our own business selling grilled fish in a restaurant named "Restaurant Crazy". But looking at the speed of our preparations, most of us gave up on this idea. We were seriously late and started the journey at 4.15pm. We were very relieved when CL's brother JW offered to go with us and guide us there. Who knows if CL is the one leading us, we might deviate from going Teluk Batik and end up in Tanjung Rambutan LOL! 

After some crazy driving (I thought I won't meet another fast driver like my dad among my friend but how wrong can I be. I would like to apologize to SM's Myvi for forcing her to do so much extra work and she's a babe, doing all of the speeding splendidly), we reached our destination and the guys, without wasting time went to scout for a suitable spot for BBQ while the girls(LC included) strolled leisurely on the beach. It's beautiful and have a very strong wind blowing all the time. I never expect that there will be such strong wind on a bay. We then hauled the heavy boxes of food prepared to the end of the beach, the only vacant spot at that time. After a hard time setting up the fire with such strong wind blowing around us, we manage to and preparations for BBQ-ing were readied. SM bought a kite and after a gruelling 30 mins trying to fly it, we gave up cause the kite was imbalanced. (It's true so don't doubt our skill)

What ensues next is a crazy night of BBQ-ing and eating and drinking. The night came and as the spot we choosen was dark without any lights, we had to depend on the lights from torch light and phones. The darkness never dampens the mood and the crazy BBQ-ing still goes on as usual. To our amazement, we were greeted with a starry sky that got many of us mesmerized. The foods was chomped down at lightning speed by this bunch of hungry ghost(Me excluded as well LOL) and it's time to go. With a heavy heart, we had to say goodbye to the strong wind, sandy beach and starry sky, leaving behind our heavy footsteps on the sand.

To our surprise, CL's home was in the middle of a blackout. Everyone were then forced to shower with light from a candle while me and CL went to tapao the che cheong funs and char kuey teows. Imagine the shock when the boss heard the number of orders we want, a whoopingly 38 packs. He had to repeat the amount to confirm the orders. And i believed all the customers behind us was cursing us for holding up the line so long with our huge orders LOL. Then, we head over to Sg. Nimbong to tapao some char kuey teows. The stall was so popular that we waited one hour for 2 packs of char kuey teow but the wait was proved worthy as it was very good, beat many so-called good char kuey teow in KL. And we had homemade asam laksa as well, made by CL's amazing mom and it's AWESOMELY delicious as well. 

With the tummies filled, we head over to Menara Condong Teluk Intan for some photoshooting as it has ever-changing lights of different color illuminating the whole tower. I managed to shoot a short video of all the colors before it was switched off so we end up with no photo of the amazing tower. Even though we ended the night with some disappointment of missing the photo shooting opportunities, it was a great day nevertheless. 

19th June 2011

At last, we managed to wake up and had some dim sums on time, at 10am. A record that we all definitely were proud of LOL! After dim sum, we went for some photoshooting at the Menara Condong again and we were greeted with a procession celebrating the birthdays of "Dai Pak Gong".

Some photos shooting later, we all headed back to CL's home and started packing. It's time to leave Teluk Intan. After thanking CL's parents for hosting us and treating us so well, we bid Teluk Intan goodbye and heading towards Bidor for the last activities. For lunch, we had Bidor's famous duck thighs noodles. It definitely live up to it's fame. It was a meal pack with all the goodness that the duck can offer. By 5.30pm, we reached WT's house and everyone headed to their respective home. That's end our trip to Teluk Intan and I bet everyone will be looking forward to our next trip.
